A Cocktail Party for your Body

The myers' cocktail, named after the maryland physician and its inventor, is an intravenous injection of nutrients that works at many levels

Are you taking a supplement?
How do you know it’s what your body needs?

In winter months, do you easily catch colds and ‘flu?
Would you like an effective immune booster?

Are you feeling sluggish or run down?
Would you like to feel re-energized?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any other the above then it’s time to treat your body to it’s own cocktail party. The Myers’ Cocktail, named after the Maryland physician and its inventor, the late John Myers, M.D, is an intravenous injection of nutrients that works at many levels from immune boosting and prevention, to part of the overall treatment of chronically sick patients.

In an ideal world, we would get all the nutrients we need from our food but in reality, that’s not the case. With today’s fast-paced, high stress lives and an over-reliance on processed foods, it’s not always possible to keep nutrition levels where they should be.

Informed consumers, aware of this problem, try to resolve it by taking their daily multi-vitamin tablet and certainly this can help to promote good health. However, the supplement market is a vast one and selecting a good quality supplement that will do the work it’s supposed to, can be difficult.

It’s also hard to know which supplement your body actually needs. Without proper testing it’s a guessing game. Nutritional requirements are as individual as fingerprints and what one person needs may be superfluous to another person. Repeatedly taking supplements that your body doesn’t actually need can, in some cases, prove very detrimental to the body.  So how can you find out your own individual requirements and when you do, where do you go?

Cocktails in Clearwater

LifeWorks Wellness Center in Clearwater combines complementary and traditional approaches to healthcare, offering many alternative therapies for wellness. A major feature of the clinic is its prestigious Chelation Therapy Unit

where patients regularly receive vitamin-packed IVs. The basis of the Myers’ Cocktail is a mix of vitamins, calcium and magnesium and once a patient has been tested to assess their nutritional requirement, homeopathic ingredients are added. That means that patients are receiving treatments specific to them and not just an off-the-shelf remedy.

Colds Hate Cocktails

Myers’ Cocktails help maintain a healthy immune system and can be especially effective during the winter months when colds and ‘flu are so prevalent. The are also very useful for helping in the treatment of people with digestive disorders whose bodies may not be absorbing the nutrients required for optimum health. In addition, some diseases cause the body to use nutrients at a faster rate, or to require higher amounts for proper healing. Nutrients injected intravenously bypass the digestive tract so that cells are literally flooded with nutrients meaning they can produce energy more efficiently.

Many chronic conditions respond to a series of Myers’ Cocktails where patients feel an energy boost lasting days or weeks.

How Does It Work

The environment of the Chelation room is relaxing with patients sitting in large rocking chairs whilst receiving their IVs . A butterfly needle is inserted into a vein, and the injection is given very slowly over approximately 20 minutes. Depending upon the patient’s individual requirement, the number of injections required will vary from a one-off immune booster to a longer series of treatments.

The injections are usually given 1-2 times per week and many patients with chronic conditions choose to continue the injections every 1-4 weeks or when they feel their energy waning.

Usually patients receiving a series of IV injections can feel themselves becoming progressively healthier so the frequency of their treatments can be gradually decreased and then finished completely. Other patients may require regular injections for an indefinite period of time to control their medical problems.

Quotes

“My job involves a lot of travel by plane and I used to find I was constantly coming down with colds after a trip. I happened to mention this on my last visit to LifeWorks and they suggested that I boost my immune system with a Myers’ Cocktail. I recently had to attend a convention in Arizona, which meant travel by plane and then 3 long days in a convention center. The day I left, I went to LifeWorks and had an IV. I felt the immediate energy boost and more importantly, I got through the whole trip and home again without any sign of a cold. Having a Myers’ Cocktail is now an important part of my pre-trip planning!”*

“The day I visited LifeWorks for my annual Well Woman check was just before Christmas and everyone in my house had a cold or ‘flu. I told my physician, Susan Gregoire that I was feeling very low on energy as I had so many preparations to do. She immediately suggested I have a Myers’ Cocktail to boost my immunity and to re-energize me. It was a very simple and relaxing procedure but I wasn’t sure if it would work. Well, if I had been in any doubt, the way I felt the next morning proved me wrong! I woke up feeling more energized than I can remember and  I ran around shopping and baking all day. I was the only one in my household to have a cold-free Christmas and now my whole family gets Myers’ Cocktails throughout the year.”*
