Last week we wrote about the dirty dozen. Eat only organic versions of these. Environmental Working Group also made a list of the clean 15. This list of produce is the least likely to be contaminated by pesticides.
- Less than 1 percent of avocado and non GMO sweet corn samples tested positive for any detectable pesticides; they scored the cleanest of all produce tested.
- More than 80 percent of pineapples, papayas, asparagus, onions and cabbages had no pesticide residues.
- None of the fruit on the Clean Fifteen list tested positive for more than four pesticides.
Here’s the 2018 Clean 15 List:
- Sweet Corn*
- Frozen Sweet Peas
*Some sweet corn and papayas sold in the United States are GMOs, so choose organic to avoid GMO versions of these crops.
Good to know right?
Have a great week,

Ever heard of the dirty dozen? This is the list of the 12 most pesticide laden fruits and vegetables as tested by the Environmental Working Group. This is the go to place to find clean foods and body products. You should avoid eating these foods as much as possible and only eat them if they are certified organic.
The herbicides and pesticides found in high quantities in them are toxic and can cause organ dysfunction and even cancer.
Here is the list of EWG’s Dirty Dozen:
- Sweet Bell Peppers
So avoid these and eat them only when organic. It will improve both your health and your longevity.
Have a good week,

A few months ago, my wife and I were in Tel Aviv for some time off. We went to a new museum that was just opened for our favorite artist. His name is Yaacov Agam. His art is very special and while we were at the museum we got to meet him. He’s in his 90’s and still creating. We had a conversation with him and he said something very profound: “When men communicate with words they can misunderstand each other, end up in disagreements and even war. With art, there is a universal language where the communication can be pure and heart to heart – and leads to no war.”
This week my wife sent me this bit of musical art that immediately made me think of Agam and his quote. This music will make your heart sing. In fact it is created from a group of Israeli handicapped musicians. It is the Israeli entry in the annual song contest for all of Europe called Eurovision. They are amazing and make the idea that there are no barriers to our humanity as one family – no matter our race, color, ability, or handicap....
Do you think you have a disease that no one can do anything about?
Read this that just came in this week:...
This just came in…
I just want to once again applaud you and your staff for the caring kindness I receive each time I come to lifeworks. From the front office staff right on up to Dr Minkoff I feel so respected and listened to. Even the staff I don’t usually have contact with are just so polite and helpful. Of course I interact with the IV staff the most, then front office and scheduling so an extra shout out to them. I had a boss one time say that what you see in ancillary staff is what you see in administration. And to that I say to you personally as the office manager, you are an example to all of them and I'm honored to know you.
I continue to sing of praises about the miracles happening at lifeworks and pray that people continue to come to be heard and healed.”
