Video: How She Overcame Stage 3 Breast Cancer with Alternative Treatments

When the doctor first told me I had cancer, the initial thought in my head was, “Oh my gosh, this is it. I I I don’t want to die.”

Life Works Wellness Center got me to be cancer-free. I’m so thankful that I found this place.

I’m Lisa Stokovich. I’m 48 years old. I’m from Detroit, Michigan, and I am a breast cancer survivor.

I first noticed a lump in my left breast and I didn’t do anything about it for 6 months.

Then I finally had the courage to go to the doctor and of course they gave me a mamogram and they wanted to give me a biopsy. I didn’t want to have the biopsy but ultimately I had to.

Then they told me I had breast cancer.

So then I had a PET scan and it showed that it was stage 3 and it was uh pretty large in size and I went to three different standard care doctors.

I asked them what was the, what caused me to have cancer.

They told me it was just luck and you’re unlucky and I knew that there was something deeper to it.

And they all wanted to do the same steps which was chemo surgery then radiation.

I was asking them just to give me surgery and then I could just do whatever I wanted after something more natural and none of them would do that for me.

So I was looking for alternative things.

I already was a pretty natural person before I was diagnosed. So, I already had Facebook groups and different mom groups I was part of, to help along the way with um insight.

So, I happened to stumble upon this uh breast cancer all naturatural group and I saw somebody went to LifeWorks.

So, then I did my deep searching. It just sounded so amazing to me and I told my husband we we need to get down to Florida.

When I first came to LifeWorks, I immediately met Dr. Van Luven and she had her sign where she went to school and it was from Michigan and I said, “Wow, I came all the way from Michigan to Florida and this amazing doctor who’s about to take care of me is from Michigan.” So, I thought that was a great sign.

She’s like, “Wow, we need to start you right away cuz you’re stage 3. You’re young. You know, you have a family you got to get back to. We you have to get started right away.”

And I had just come here with a suitcase planning that I was going to fly home, you know, get my stuff and come back down. But I stayed. I stayed and I listened and I started my treatment.

Dr. Van Luven explained the RGCC testing and they took my blood, sent it to Greece and she explained how the test works, how it is for me and my body and my tumor that was going on. And it shows all the chemos that would be good for me to take to combat the cancer.

My experience with IPT was amazing. I felt that it did so well for my body and that’s that’s why I’m so glad I chose this path because IPT, the whole point of it is it attacks just the cancer cells, not the healthy cells.

With IPT, they drop your sugar before they give you the chemos that are tailored to you from the RGCC test. And when they give it to you, the cancer cells are hungry. They eat it up because then they also give glucose after with it. So it tricks it and goes just to the cancer cells.

And I feel that that method works great because the whole time during my IPT treatments, I was still going for walks on the beach. I was walking in the forest. I was going shopping. I was hanging out with my friends.

I was still able to do a lot of things and I had energy for that and I kept my hair. That’s you know, I felt hair is our identity you know I just felt so happy that I still looked like myself. So I felt really good with chemo with the IPT.

The RGCC test also shows all different kinds of natural and alternative remedies to use and my RGCC test came back for high dose of vitamin C for example Artemis [clears throat] which I still do different things like that.

So I was so thankful I tell all my family and friends about this test that the standard care doctors don’t even care about.

I was so happy with the RGCC testing results because it was a tailored plan just to me, for my body, what worked for me, not my friend’s body, not the next person’s body. It was tailored to me and my my cancer that I had.

Based on the science from the RGCC testing, I felt very confident that this tailored plan was perfect for me.

I received great news in January of 2026 that my PET scan was clear.

No evidence of disease.

That’s how they word it, which means I’m cancer-free.

I’m getting back into the swing of things because I had moved from Michigan to Florida. So, I was living here.

So, now that I’m living back home with my teenage kids and my husband, I’m getting back into the swing of things of being a mom, being a wife, trying to get my travel business back up and running, and just enjoying the small things – going for coffee with my daughter, going out to dinner with my son, hanging out with my husband, all the things that I wasn’t doing when I was going through cancer treatment.

I would tell people that Life Works Wellness Center, they treat you like family. Everybody is so nice. They really take care of you.

The protocols are tailored to you. And I think that’s very important in your healing journey.

I felt like LifeWorks Wellness Center was focused on my future, not just my illness.
