Did you know:
- Seventy million people in the USA have heart disease?
- Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the US?
- Deaths from cancer in the USA are half as common as death from cardiovascular disease?
What’s more astounding is that 50 percent of men and 64 percent of women who die from heart disease experience no previous symptoms of it. Most people are running at full speed throughout their days, balancing a full-time job with raising children, running a home and making ends meet, financially. Often warning signs of heart disease are ignored, until “bad indigestion” is eventually diagnosed as cardiovascular disease.
Heartbroken
Many ask, “What is a heart attack?” Simply, a heart attack is damage to the heart muscle due to loss of blood supply, usually caused by a complete blockage of an artery that supplies blood to the heart muscle.
Several risk factors have been isolated and they are:
- Tobacco smoke
- High blood cholesterol
- High blood pressure
- Physical inactivity
- Obesity or overweight
- Diabetes
- Use of estrogens
- Excessive alcohol use
Added to which, if you have a family history of heart disease, or you have already had a heart attack, you are at even greater risk. But, even if you don’t consider yourself high-risk, which the majority of heart attack victims don’t, why let 911 be your wake-up call?
Take Heart
Looking on the preventative side, what can you do to maintain a healthy heart? You probably already know what steps you can take like stop smoking, eat a healthy diet with lots of fresh organic fruit and vegetables, get plenty of regular exercise, keep your weight under control along with your blood pressure and blood cholesterol.
Bypass heart surgery is one treatment for heart disease, but at times, it can be ineffective, and costly, not to mention risky. During bypass surgery, about 5 percent of patients have cardiac arrests or strokes and about 1-2 percent actually die.
Your Heart in Our Hands
At LifeWorks Wellness Center we specialize in evaluating heart health, both in terms of prevention of, and natural treatment for, cardiovascular disease. We have three different protocols which we use in the prevention of, and treatment for, cardiovascular disease:
Chelation – at LifeWorks, chelation therapy is used as the primary treatment of heavy metal poisoning. Because chelation appears to improve circulation and reduce toxic chemical reactions in the body, it has been used successfully in patients who have heart conditions.
Enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) – offers a safe, non-invasive, painless treatment that maximises oxygen- and nutrient-rich blood flow throughout the body which in turn improves stamina, strength, mobility and vitality. Many patients suffer from conditions such as chest pain, fatigue and shortness of breath. EECP Therapy promotes the development of new blood vessels and restores the flow of healthy, oxygenated blood to the heart.
Oxidative Medicine – Oxygen therapies can have a tremendous healing effect on the body. Using ozone we can saturate the bloodstream with oxygen that will kill bacteria, fungi, and viral infections. In the case of cardiovascular disease, the blood flow seems to improve and patients can be relieved of their symptoms.
At LifeWorks we have helped many patients with advice about cardiovascular prevention and treatment and we could do the same for you. Call (727) 466-6789 today for an appointment.
Patient Successes
“I am very grateful to be getting chelation to improve my circulation without any drugs or any need for bypass surgery! I feel so much better because I’m no longer short of breath. I no longer feel the fatigue and lethargic feelings I used to feel. I have increased energy and a good sense of physical well-being! I feel great!”*

“I had arterial blockages in my carotid arteries – up to 90% and I was scared. Dr Minkoff prescribed 20 chelation sessions and 10 special IV treatments. I am already feeling great and am looking forward to getting my health back without surgery.”*

“I had stints in my leg and was on 3 different types of blood thinners. When I came to LifeWorks they recommended EECP therapy. At the time I could hardly walk. After 10 EECP treatments the pain in my leg has gone and I am more active. I am also off 2 of my blood thinners and there has been a significant improvement in my quality of life.”*
