LifeWorks Turns 25! – Optimum Health Report #450
Twenty-five years ago, Sue and I decided to start a natural medicine clinic.
I had been doing full time Emergency Medicine at the time and the ER was becoming a place for drug seekers, drunks and psych screening for 6 year old’s acting out in school. It had lost its fun.
The prospect of working with people who wanted health and longevity was exciting to us and our first patients were a couple of friends who wanted chelation therapy. Our first clinic was one room borrowed from my wife’s nursing agency office. Then came a woman with chronic migraines that we were able to fix, then a colon cancer patient who got better with a powerful herb extract. It has been a rocket ride to this day. From a staff of 5 people when we started to 63 now, we have become the largest clinic of integrative medicine in the U.S. As we have grown, so has our reach into the larger community. We have people coming from all parts of the world as we are renowned for our excellence with Lyme Disease, cancer, mold, neurological disease, autoimmune disease, and anti-aging. With long haul COVID being a huge international problem, we have now become a center to treat people for this too. We now boast the most effective stem cell treatment available; we deliver more ozone treatments than any clinic in the U.S. and we have the most concentrated number of treatment modalities anywhere.
Yes, we are proud of what we have done, but even more proud to say we are just beginning. In the next year we are adding 12,000 more feet of treatment space and doubling the hyperbaric oxygen treatment delivery.
Our IV room will go from 23 chairs to fifty. We have two new MDs being added to our staff along with our 4 APRNs.
