Processed Foods vs Organic Food OHR #525

Message From Dr. Minkoff
What is food?
Definition:
- any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth.
- Material containing or consisting of carbohydrates, fats and proteins used in the body of an animal to sustain growth, repair, and vital processes and to furnish energy.
- Any substance consumed to provide nutritional support and energy to an organism.
For many people, the material they eat being highly processed and/or artificial does not constitute food. It does not sustain growth or repair and may provide energy but in a form that is toxic to the body.
Because of that the United States spends almost twice as much per capita on health care as other wealthy countries:
- United States: $12,742 per capita
- Switzerland: $9,044 per capita
- Germany: $8,541 per capita
- Netherlands: $7,277 per capita
- Sweden: $7,009 per capita
- Belgium: $6,994 per capita
- France: $6,924 per capita
As a result we have the most expensive health care system but we ran last overall compared to six other industrialized countries —Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom—on measures of quality, efficiency, access to care, equity, and the ability to lead long, healthy, and productive lives, according to a new Commonwealth Fund report.
Some good rules for food borrowed from my good friend Dr Robert Rowen:
- If God did not make it, don’t eat it.
- Eat what grows around you, ripe, raw, organic and when in season.
- If a carnivore, make sure your meat is from animals humanely raised, killed, organic and pasture fed.
- Do not overcook food. You must cook meat in today’s world, while our ancestors likely ate more raw meat as animals still do.
- No heated oils. You may sauté in butter, ghee or coconut oil.
Very simple.
That means anything that boxed and packaged and contains artificial ingredients is suspect.
Be careful of it.
Your body is your temple and your home for this period of time that you are here.
If you abuse it by feeding it non food, it will be poisoned and not function as you would like.
Yours in health,
David I Minkoff, MD

Patient Testimonial
I spent 3 months at LifeWorks. I had many health issues/symptoms due to having gone through conventional breast cancer treatments (Chemotherapy/radiation) 3 years ago. I had severe cog fog, depression, and felt my body needed “recalibration”. I also have MS which I learned is closely related to Lyme disease (which I tested positive for and treatment was primarily focused on). On my initial medical questionnaire, I scored 180. After 6 weeks of doing several modalities including hyperbaric oxygen Chamber, PEMF, lots of supplements, changing diet from vegan to Paleo and so much more my symptoms score decreased significantly to 130. And at 3 months, 30!! I have a little more work (detoxing from heavy metals from 20 years of MRI’s with contrast) and contaminated water at Camp Lejeune) so will be coming back for that.
I was able to get off all prescription medication except one which helps keep cancer in remission. I will continue to see Dr Minkoff for maintenance and he is closely monitoring the breast cancer and any signs of other cancers that may occur from Camp Lejeune water. If it does return, I will definitely come back for treatment as I know my body can’t handle conventional treatment again.
And, I witnessed many patients with cancer that had come back go through a much gentler treatment at Lifeworks/Dr Minkoff with unbelievable results! Thanks for giving me my life back!! I love each and every one of your team!! May God bless you all.
