Dear Readers,
Greetings all!
This week a close friend was just diagnosed with stage IV cancer. She has started her treatments and made a comment to me that slightly took me aback. She said, “Getting cancer has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. It’s gotten me to slow down, look around, appreciate, and really get into communication with my family, friends, and environment like never before. Prior to the diagnosis, I was on a treadmill, moving every second, making sure everything always got done and it was such a whirlwind that I missed the pleasure of just being alive. Now I am experiencing that! And what a pleasure it is. I am actually very happy.”
How interesting!
Fortunately we don’t know our future. It could be decades or seconds. It’s mostly out of our hands.
But, if we knew it was days, how would we react with other people? Would we get as quickly annoyed or angry with the people around us? Would we say “I appreciate you” or “I love you” more often? Would we be more patient, helpful or kind?
Life is a miracle gift. We didn’t ask for it – suddenly we were here. It will last as long as it lasts and then it will be gone. Take a minute and think about what you could still do with your life so that when it’s nearly over, and you look back, you can say with satisfaction: I lived, I helped, and I got done what I set out to do, and others were glad I was here and did what I did.
Have a great week,
Dr. David I Minkoff, MD
Patient Testimonial
“Ever since I started here with Dr. Minkoff, my health has soared to new heights on a daily basis, to a point where pretty much every outpoint of my body has disappeared magically as snow in the hot sun!
At the same time I have drastically changed my diet for the better, no more sugar, no more processed foods, only organic – freshly prepared. I am also faithfully taking all prescribed supplements.
As a result all tiredness during the day has now disappeared and little pains and bodily discomfort have vanished.
It feels like my body is healing itself in a very rapid pace. I feel younger, more energetic and much happier than before.
Thank you, all the LifeWorks staff. Thank you Dr. Minkoff.”

Cardiovascular Disease
According to the American Heart Association, in 2013 one in three deaths in the U.S. was from heart disease, stroke or other cardiovascular diseases. (1)
Did you know:
- Seventy million people in the USA have heart disease?
- Heart disease is the chief cause of death among American women of all ages?
- Deaths from cancer in the USA are half as common as death from cardiovascular disease?
- You are at a much greater risk of heart disease if you smoke, have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, a weight problem, have diabetes or a family history of heart disease?
A heart attack is damage caused to the heart muscle due to the loss of blood supply. This is usually caused by a complete blockage of an artery that supplies blood to the heart muscle.
How we treat Cardiovascular Disease at LifeWorks
We have programs at our Clearwater clinic for dealing with heart disease. One of the treatments we offer that you may not be familiar with is Chelation Therapy.
Used for over 30 years to treat degenerative diseases such as high cholesterol, poor circulation and heart disease, Chelation Therapy is administered via an intravenous infusion of a special protein called EDTA. This protein is scientifically proven to remove heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury and others from the body.
Some researchers believe that as Chelation Therapy removes toxic heavy metals from the body, oxidative stress diminishes and cholesterol levels lower, allowing blood to flow more freely through your arteries. Removing heavy metals from your body improves your circulation, heart, brain and immune functions.
If you think you are at risk of Cardiovascular Disease, we can help you at our Clearwater clinic. For an appointment, call the New Patient Scheduler at (727) 466-6789.
