Dr. David I Minkoff M.D.

Misdiagnosed with Parkinson’s

“This is the clinic that saved my life.

I first went there as support for someone else. I had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s by two neurologist. I had also endured chronic pain which had been attributed to depression. I had brain fog. My sleep was horrible. My digestion wasn’t working. I was slowly losing the left side of my body, shaking and falling. My left foot dragged. My hair was falling out, my eyes turned chicken fat yellow and ran moist. I was declining and told there was nothing I could do with the exception of treating the symptoms with medication for quality of life.

Then came a turn in events…While keeping Sam company during his IV treatments for a dental infection at LifeWorks, I started hearing my symptoms being spoken by fellow patients in the room. It all sounded familiar….. Too familiar…

Sam encouraged me to see Dr. Minkoff and listen to what he had to say. I really didn’t have any positive expectations. My body had been so weak that I had gone as far as visiting some of my loved ones not knowing how much longer I would be able to travel. I had come to peace with my misdiagnosed condition, and was even quietly making my final arrangements as my body weaken.

Dr. Minkoff listened to my list of ailments and ordered every test: Saliva, urine, blood and stool. I was tested for amino acids, hormone levels, heavy metals, food allergies, Lyme disease …. Lots if reports and changes.

It turned out I had lead poisoning and Lyme disease. I pulled my two root canal teeth leaving holes in my once perfect teeth. And then the unexpected: a monumental turn around. With treatment those ailments began to resolve. My “Parkinson’s” is disappearing as well as my “depression”. I am digesting food again. My Lyme is in remission. And the pain is gone WITHOUT PILLS.

I’m not 100% yet. I am weak as a kitten and shake some. After all, I had been declining for quite a while so it is going to take a while to build back up. I’m definitely building, doing more more each day.

I’m so happy with LifeWorks and Dr. Minkoff. My goal of celebration is to learn how to run at the end of this recovery. Thank you LifeWorks Wellness Center for giving me an unexpected future!!!”*  — M.S.

Dr.Springer on the Causes of Inability to Lose Weight

This is the second in a new series of videos by LifeWorks’ practitioner, Dr. George Springer, in which he discusses how important it is to identify the root cause of a condition, as opposed to just masking its effects.

This week’s topic is Weight Loss.

Why IV Therapy is Essential for Good Health

In today’s modern society of nutrient depleted food (fast food, processed food, vegetables picked green and shipped thousands of miles and stored in coolers for weeks or months before we eat them), and daily exposure to hundreds of toxic chemicals, our bodies are “left out in the cold” so to speak, and health suffers.

Many times, trying to replenish the sick body by taking more oral nutrients does not work because the digestive system is so broken, it cannot absorb them. Luckily, at LifeWorks we have a way around this with the IV therapy we offer in Clearwater.

About Dr. David Minkoff, Medical Director

Dr. David Minkoff graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1974 and was elected to the “Phi Beta Kappa” of medical schools, the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Fraternity for very high academic achievement. He then completed both a Pediatric Residency and a Fellowship in Infectious Disease at the University of California at San Diego. He worked at the University of California and Children’s Hospitals in San Diego as an attending physician in infectious disease while conducting original research on Ribaviron, a broad spectrum anti-viral agent to fight disease. He also co-directed a neo-natal intensive care unit and worked in emergency medicine. In 1992, Dr. Minkoff’s wife Sue, a Registered Nurse, became interested in nutrition and health and began to go to lectures from some of the experts in the field. At the time, Dr. Minkoff was pretty fixed in his view of traditional medicine and it took a lot of convincing to get him to come to one of these lectures. After hearing Dr. Jeffrey Bland speak, Dr. Minkoff had a eureka moment and began pursuing the alternative field with a vengeance. Based on this new knowledge Dr. Minkoff and his wife set up a small clinic in 1997 to help some friends with their medical problems. What began as an experiment blossomed into Lifeworks Wellness Center, one of the most successful clinics for complementary medicine in the United States. In the process, he gained expertise in Biological medicine, integrative oncology, heavy metal detoxification, anti-aging medicine, hormone replacement therapy, functional medicine, energy medicine, neural and prolotherapy, homeopathy, and optimum nutrition. He studied under the masters in each of these disciplines until he became an expert in his own right. Dr. Minkoff is one of the most in-demand speakers in the field and wrote an Amazon best-selling book called The Search For The Perfect Protein. The demand for the products and protocols he discovered became a catalyst for founding BodyHealth.Com, a nutrition company that now manufactures and distributes cutting-edge nutritional solutions for the many health problems of today. Dr. Minkoff writes two free online newsletters, “The Optimum Health Report” and ”The BodyHealth Fitness Newsletter”, to help others learn about optimum health and fitness. Dr. Minkoff is an avid athlete himself and has completed 43 Ironman Triathlons. To keep his fitness maximal, he lives the lifestyle he teaches to others and tries to set an example for others, so they can enjoy a life free of pain and full of energy.
