Most of us grow up listening to our parents. Most of our parents listen to the doctors and dentists they trust in. The dentists listen to the medical boards and the wealth of information that the studies present.

The studies are run, most of us not knowing if they are tainted or not, by well-meaning people but people who, nonetheless, have a certain view of things.

That is why I am so grateful for the brave individuals who present, often the other side or the other view of products, ingredients, medications, diseases, and a host of other issues that at least give a glimpse or mild information that expands our mind to at least think that all we are handed, may not be 100% accurate.

So is the case with Fluoride. A study in 2001(1), showed that Fluoride calcified the pineal gland. Calcification or hardening of a part of our brain.

The pineal gland is a very small gland that is tucked away in the brain. This gland, has had a somewhat illusive life. It was considered, the seat of the soul or the 3rd eye by ancient philosophers and was the last endocrine gland to actually discover its function. Although researchers are still trying to reveal the full function of the pineal gland, it is believed to be that the main function is production of Melatonin. An important hormone that regulates many important body functions.

The study was rather interesting. Briefly, the synopsis was that:

“There was a positive correlation between pineal F[luoride] and pineal Ca[lcium] (r = 0.73, p<0.02) but no correlation between pineal F and bone F. By old age, the pineal gland has readily accumulated F and its F/Ca ratio is higher than bone.”

In other words, by old age, the Fluoride/Calcium accumulated more in the pineal compared to the Fluoride/Calcium in the bone. This Fluoride Calcification resembles gravel in the gland and is responsible for a number of diseases a few listed below:

  1. Alzheimer’s Disease
  2. Bipolar
  3. Hormone imbalances
  4. Sleep disturbances
  5. Schizophrenia
  6. Stroke

Prozac, is actually 30%, by weight Fluoride. Yes. GreenMedInfo, states that Prozac could actually be poisoning the brain and flattening out the effect of people using this drug. Not to mention the long term potential complications. GreenMedInfo has connected over 60 diseases related to the consumption of this toxin.

While we are on the topic, another commonly prescribed drug that contains Fluoride, is Cipro. Cipro is one of the most commonly prescribed antibiotics and not only does it contain Fluoride, it is known to cause tendon rupture, damage to ligaments as well as musculoskeletal issues to name a few. Cipro is supposed to be saved for serious infections, however it is easily reached for with sinus infections and common Urinary Tract Infections.

In a 2001 study by Dr. Jay Cohen, the following reaction rates were documented. (2)

In a letter to his Congressman, he wrote:

"These severe reactions are occurring in patients who are usually healthy, active, and young. Most often, the antibiotics are prescribed for mild infections such as sinusitis, urinary or prostate infections. Most reactions occur very quickly, sometimes with just a few doses of the fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Reactions are acute, severe, frightening, and often disabling.

Since the publication of my article with its 45 cases two and a half years ago, I have received e-mails from more than 100 people seeking help for their reactions. In most cases, their doctors have dismissed their complaints or outright denied that the reactions could occur with fluoroquinolones. Yet extensive medical workups do not find any other cause. Worse, there are no known effective treatments. Thus, these people suffer pain and disability for weeks, months, and years."

Either through municipal water, toothpaste, Teflon, Plastic wrap, to name a few, protection and prevention are the best way to avoid this toxic chemical.

With seeing many ill patients for the past 20 years, I have to say, that it is never just one thing bringing down the body. There is, unfortunately, usually a cacophony of toxins as wells as invaders that impact ones health. This is one small glimpse into a possible clue! We are great at getting to the source of your health issues!

To your health,

Jennifer Baer, ARNP
