More on Monsanto!
For those of you who have not heard of Monsanto, it is the newest dirty word in some circles we travel in.
Monsanto’s website states, “Monsanto is an agricultural company, helping farmers large and small grow food more sustainably.”
However, there is a different belief about Monsanto out there. They are accused of being a power hungry, money thirsty company and are only interested in money. One more corporation not only bringing down American small businesses, but they are bringing down American’s health as well.
Monsanto is known for the worst 3 letter word known to man! GMO, otherwise known as Genetically Modified Organisms.
The definition of GMOs from Wikipedia is “any organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques.” Besides GMOs, the most common product sold by Monsanto is “Round-Up.” I am sure at this point, that many of you are aware of Round Up. Its major ingredient is glyphosate and has devastating effects on the body. It’s known to cause and contribute to every health issue known to the medical community.
I believe we are experts at modifying these days. Whether it be food, our bodies etc., we have become masters at changing and manipulating things we do not like. It is one thing to change something personally, which is a personal choice and impacts us only. However, when corporations put up a front to make things look different than what they actually are, that’s another issue. Monsanto is doing this…over and over again.
Approximately 60 countries have banned Monsanto products from being used in their countries.
So what’s occurring in the government with regards to Monsanto? The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), is asking the public to give their opinion on Monsanto and according to the article recently published through Environmental Working Group, (EWG), Monsanto is pushing back. The EPA continues to ignore the health hazards associated with this herbicide and now, Monsanto is pushing harder (with financial ways), to encourage the EPA to declare it safe.
On another note, as many of you know, we have a fascinating test that measures Glyphosate in the body. I had a patient yesterday who showed a 90% level! Of course, the treatments to handle it will be ordered by your health care provider!!!
To your health,
Jennifer Baer, ARNP
