COMMON HEALTH CONDITIONS WE TREAT
Gut Dysbiosis Treatment

Many people don’t realize how important gut flora balance is to the health of the entire body. For example, did you know that about 70-80% of the body’s immune system is in the gastrointestinal system?
If your gut is out of balance, your entire body will go in the same direction. Gut health affects everything in the body.
Let’s look at gut dysbiosis symptoms, causes, diagnosis, and natural treatment options.
What Is Gut Dysbiosis?
Gut dysbiosis is a term referring to an imbalance in the gastrointestinal system. It is the opposite of orthobiosis which signifies that there is a healthy balance in the gut. The gastrointestinal system contains over 500 species of bacteria, several different types of yeast, and as mentioned above, 70-80% of the body’s immune system. The purpose of the gastrointestinal system is to break down and digest foods to create usable vitamins and minerals for the body; absorb those vitamins and nutrients; and prevent unhealthy items like toxins and pathogens from entering the body.
Although there are many healthy bacteria and tissues in the gut, there may also be bad bacteria, parasites, viruses, toxins, and artificial items from food and water that enter the gut. In addition, when the gut is not healthy, problems occur in the bacterial balance allowing yeasts and fungi to proliferate while healthy bacteria decrease. This imbalance leads to damage in the gut and subsequent problems in other parts of the body including illness, rashes, and other problems as we’ll discuss next.
Symptoms of Gut Dysbiosis
Symptoms of gut dysbiosis can vary widely depending on each person’s body. Since dysbiosis can affect every part of the body, some of the symptoms may be present in the gastrointestinal system while others may seem unrelated elsewhere in the body. Here are some common symptoms and related diseases:

Diagnosis of Gut Dysbiosis
Gut health is one of the first things we look at when patients come to LifeWorks Wellness Center because such a variety of health conditions can be caused by gut dysbiosis. When you meet with our practitioners you will have the peace of mind of knowing we will get to the root cause of your health issues. We take a whole body approach to your health and well-being. Depending on the route we decide to follow we will do some or all of the following:
- Consultation: We discuss current systems and health history, including the onset of symptoms and previous diagnoses from other healthcare practitioners. We discuss lifestyle and possible triggers to current health issues.
- Lab work and testing: We will assess the symptoms you are suffering from, and perform a functional evaluation to assess the status of the intestine. Depending on the results, we may order a functional stool test and other labs to evaluate the physiology of the gastrointestinal tract. This helps us to know if the following are present in the gut: inflammation, bacterial overgrowth, and parasites. It also shows us the enzyme activity in the pancreas, and the status of the immune system tissue in the gut.
- Food allergy testing: We will conduct food allergy testing including IgE and IgG blood tests to determine true food allergy and food sensitivities, elimination diet, muscle testing, and a Meridian Health Analysis.
How Does LifeWorks Wellness Center Treat Gut Dysbiosis?
Once a thorough consultation is completed and diagnosis made, we develop a treatment plan uniquely designed to each person’s case. Our goal is to restore complete gut function and body health. Each treatment plan is different and will depend upon the factors involved for each individual’s case. Depending on the diagnosis your treatment plan may include one or more of the following:
- Prolozone Therapy
- Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)
- IV Therapy
- Targeted nutrition/supplementation
- Strengthening the immune system
- Addressing nutritional deficiencies
As we address gut dysbiosis and restore health to the gut, we can also help to resolve other issues which may have been caused by the gut dysbiosis. And they may even resolve themselves when the gut is healthy again!
We specialize in addressing gut dysbiosis at our Clearwater clinic. Results of addressing gut health are surprisingly quick, and often in as little as 4-6 weeks the gut will start to heal by following our treatment plans.
Give us a call at (727) 466-6789 or submit an online inquiry and see how we can help you overcome the health issues caused by gut dysbiosis.
