What is chron disease and how can it be treated naturally

Suffering from Crohn’s disease? Looking for a way to resolve this condition naturally? We can help! We’ve been treating Crohn’s disease naturally for 25 years. We have learned how to successfully treat this condition by finding and eliminating the underlying cause(s) so that the gut will heal itself.

What is Crohn’s Disease?

Crohn’s is a disease of the immune system and is classified medically as an autoimmune disorder. This means the body is producing antibodies that attack itself. Knowing that this is an autoimmune condition, is half the battle. It opens the door to handling this chronic health condition.

We have extensive experience treating autoimmune conditions successfully. To correct them, you must establish what is causing autoimmunity first. If you only attempt to suppress symptoms, you won’t get a long-term resolution, just a covering up of the condition.

Many things can trigger an autoimmune condition, and we’ll cover some of them here.

Crohn’s disease is most often found in a section of the small intestine called the ileum, but Crohn’s can happen anywhere in the GI tract from the mouth to the anus. Crohn’s disease can affect anyone at any age but most typically it is first diagnosed in people in their teens and twenties.

Crohn’s Disease Symptoms

Crohn’s disease, like IBS, celiac disease, and ulcerative colitis, is classified as a gastrointestinal disorder and has symptoms in common with the other diseases, such as cramping, blood in the stool, and weight loss.

The most common areas affected by Crohn’s disease are the last part of the small intestine called the ileum and the colon. Crohn’s disease symptoms can range from mild to severe and may develop gradually or come on suddenly, without warning, and may include:

  • Diarrhea, due to excess fluid secreted by the intestine
  • Abdominal pain and cramping due to portions of the intestinal wall swelling and thickening with scar tissue leading to narrowing of the intestine
  • Blood in the stool is caused by food passing through inflamed parts of the bowel
  • Ulcers can grow through the intestinal walls and can cause severe pain
  • Reduced appetite and weight loss can be caused by severe cramping which can also prevent digestion and absorption of food

Autoimmunity & Crohn’s Disease

Crohn’s disease is widely believed to be an autoimmune disease which means the body is erroneously attacking itself.

In autoimmune conditions, the immune system detects a foreign invader or substance that does not belong where it is. These substances tend to sneak in through leaks in the gut lining or by way of infected areas of the body (like the mouth, with hidden abscesses, pockets in the mouth, gums, etc.).

The foreign invader gets circulated around and arrives at a destination where it takes up residence. It can get lodged into the tissues of the affected area or alter the surface of the cell, making the cell itself appear foreign.

The immune system will attack the area and create damage to the surrounding tissue, causing lesions and inflammation. If the foreign substance is not neutralized or eliminated, the immune system will keep attacking the perceived threat to protect you. This leads to chronic degradation of the tissue or organ and systemic inflammation and disease.

This basic cycle occurs in most autoimmune conditions, whether we are talking about autoimmune conditions of the gut lining, the thyroid, neurological disorders, or any other autoimmune condition.

Factors Involved in the Development of Crohn’s

In all autoimmune conditions, we are looking for the underlying cause that brought about the condition. If we can find and treat these factors, as we have many times, it leads to great successes and health recovery.

Key Factors in Autoimmunity

  • Leaky gut – the cellular barrier in the gut lining gets compromised, allowing undigested proteins, chemicals, parasites, toxins, pathogens, etc. to enter where they don’t belong. This breach in the gut lining causes the immune system to go into full-on war mode, trying to prevent invasion and attacking the constant barrage of foreign invaders. This causes the immune system to be stuck in hyperdrive, continually attacking, leading to inflammation and chronic damage.
  • Toxins – pesticides, chemicals, and heavy metals, which we are all being exposed to at unprecedented levels, alter the structure of the outside of cells, making them appear foreign to the body. This triggers the immune system to attack these cells, leading to autoimmune conditions. Thankfully these toxins can be tested for and we have an effective protocol to rid the body of these various toxins.
  • Fungus – a team of scientists has identified a fungus as a critical factor in the development of Crohn’s disease. Candida tropicalis may trigger gut inflammation and worsen the symptoms of Crohn’s disease.
  • Bacteria, viruses, yeasts, parasites, mold – For example, E. coli and Serratia marcescens are linked with the development of Crohn’s.
  • Dietary – Eating a nutrients deficient diet (like the standard American diet) made up of highly processed foods, fried foods, dairy products, a heavy intake of sugar or artificial sweeteners, alcohol, and/or caffeine can all contribute to the development of Crohn’s disease.
  • Food Sensitivities / allergies – some foods are known to trigger immune responses in humans. Gluten, soy, wheat, and dairy are high on the list.
  • Genetic factors – if you have Crohn’s disease, you may have inherited a unique gene in your immune system that could predispose you to the condition. When the gene is triggered, it can cause this immune overreaction, which leads to chronic inflammation in your intestines.

Conventional Medicine Has No Real Answers

Unfortunately, in conventional medicine, no one knows what causes Crohn’s. They know that something in your body has caused your immune system to overreact. It’s estimated that 75 percent of people with Crohn’s disease eventually undergo surgery — and that up to 38 percent of people who have surgery for Crohn’s experience a recurrence of symptoms within just one year!

There has to be a better solution and there is!

Interesting Fact

How Did Crohn’s Disease Get its Name?

Crohn’s disease was named after gastroenterologist, Burrill Bernard Crohn, who worked at both Mount Sinai hospital and in private practice at a time when physicians believed the only disease of the small intestine was tuberculosis. Crohn questioned that theory when he met with a chronically sick 17-year old boy and in 1932, he wrote a ground-breaking paper describing the disease which now bears his name.
