Hyperthermia in Cancer

Hyperthermia in cancer

What Is Hyperthermia Therapy?

Hyperthermia treatment or therapy refers to heating the body or parts of the body to induce healing. It’s a practice that has been around for hundreds of years, and Molecular Hyperthermia Therapy (I-Therm) is among the newer forms of this.

I-Therm promotes hyperthermia, a form of heat treatment, which in turn increases blood flow and enhances the efficient delivery of oxygen, nutrients, and low-dose chemotherapy (IPT). I-Therm is a non-invasive treatment method that can accelerate the healing process.

We use hyperthermia as part of our all-natural, cancer treatment protocol.

History of Hyperthermia Therapy

Heat therapy began in ancient times when hot water from thermal springs, mud baths, and hot steam from volcanic caves was utilized for healing. Many Greek and Roman physicians agreed that increasing a body’s temperature (hyperthermia) could fight even the most critical of diseases, including cancer. The Greek philosopher Parmenides was deeply convinced of the effectiveness of hyperthermia and said, “Give me the power to produce fever and I will cure all diseases”.

In the 19th century, New York physician, William Coley, successfully administered toxins to his cancer patients to induce fever and elevate their temperatures to begin the healing process.

In the late ’70s, U.S. trials of hyperthermia showed that when combined with radiation, the results in cancer patients were more successful than with radiation alone.

Currently, hyperthermia is becoming more utilized in the United States, with I-Therm treatment being an increasingly popular choice.

How Does I-Therm Treatment Work?

When cells in the body are exposed to higher than normal temperatures, changes can take place inside the cells. Higher temperatures can make the cells more likely to be affected by other treatments such as low-dose chemotherapy. I-Therm increases blood flow to the specific warmed area, which utilizes the body’s natural response to heat to provide the desired therapeutic effect.

How is Hyperthermia Administered?

Patients lay on a comfortable bed and heated pads are positioned around the area to be treated. The I-Therm Hyperthermia therapy produces a shortwave electromagnetic field at the optimized frequency to induce hyperthermia in targeted tissues up to 15 cm (6 in) beneath the skin.

Optimal therapeutic warming temperatures are achieved within 8 minutes which are maintained for the duration of treatment.

Because this therapy is very localized it can be applied to cancer in specific areas of the body, such as the bladder, breast, liver, prostate, and many more.

Benefits of using Hyperthermia Treatment for Cancer

Patients report many benefits using I-Therm. A few of the most commonly reported benefits are:

  • Enhances the effectiveness of traditional cancer treatments.*
  • Shrinks cancerous tumors*
  • Alleviates pain and accelerates healing.*
  • Increases nutrients and oxygen to the heated region.*
  • Provides rapid neurologic rehabilitation.*

Cancer Hyperthermia Therapy

Hyperthermia used in conjunction with other cancer-fighting modalities can be used to treat a variety of cancers. Some of the more popular treatments are:

  • breast cancer hyperthermia therapy
  • cancer hyperthermia treatment
  • hyperthermia for prostate cancer

“I had the metal in my teeth removed as you had recommended.  I did that at Christmas and you were right, immediately my immune system starting kicking in and I started winning my battle against cancer…”
