Alternative Therapies for Testicular Cancer

Symptoms of testicular cancer

Testicular cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the male reproductive glands.

It is a relatively rare form of cancer, accounting for only 1% of cancers in men but it is the most common cancer in young adult males aged 15 to 44.1

Testicular cancer occurs when the cells in one or both testicles begin to grow and divide rapidly and in an uncontrolled way, which can result in the formation of a tumor.

According to the National Cancer Institute, 9910 men were diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2022.2

The number of new cases of testicular cancer have doubled in the past 40 years.

The exact cause of testicular cancer is unknown, but there are several risk factors that have been identified.

A main risk factor is a history of undescended testicles, a condition where one or both testicles have not descended into the scrotum.

Other risk factors include a family history of testicular cancer and exposure to certain chemicals, such as PFAS (per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances).

PFAS, known as forever chemicals, are used to make non-stick cookware, as well as protective coatings for products like carpets and fabrics.3

The most common symptoms of testicular cancer include a lump or swelling in the testicle, pain or discomfort in the testicle, a feeling of heaviness in the scrotum, and a dull ache in the lower abdomen or groin.

The five-year survival rate for men with testicular cancer is around 95%.2

Regular self-examination and early detection are key to improving the chances of a successful outcome.

Complementary Treatments for Testicular Cancer

While surgery is the primary treatment for testicular cancer, there are several alternative treatments that help improve overall health and immune function for patients with testicular cancer.

Insulin-Potentiation Therapy (IPT)

Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT) is non-toxic, safe and effective to boost immunity and specifically target the cancer stem cells that are causing the disease.

IPT works by using insulin to shuttle cancer-fighting drugs into cancer cells, making the cells more sensitive to the treatment.4

This means that smaller doses of chemotherapy drugs can be used, resulting in fewer side effects.

Additionally, since IPT only targets cancer cells, healthy cells are spared, further reducing the side effects of treatment.

IPT can also be used in conjunction with other cancer therapies, making it a versatile and complementary treatment option.

IPT can be an effective treatment option for those undergoing cancer treatment, providing both fewer side effects and a better chance of survival.

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation

Ultraviolet blood irradiation, also known as biophoton light therapy or UVBI therapy, is a non-invasive medical technique that has been used for over a century.5

UV blood irradiation is effective and gentle treatment for a variety of conditions, including cancer, and has no negative side effects.

This therapy involves drawing a small amount of blood from the patient, exposing it to ozone gas and ultraviolet light, and then infusing the blood back into the body.

The ultraviolet light exposure kills harmful microorganisms in the blood and improves overall immune function.

UV blood irradiation has also been shown to stimulate the production of red and white blood cells, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBOT, is a medical treatment that involves inhaling pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber.

This therapy has been shown to be highly effective in improving circulation, wound healing, and reducing inflammation.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy combats the effects of hypoxia, or low oxygen, in the tumor and promotes healing.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a valuable treatment option that offers strong benefits for cancer patients in combination with other cancer therapies offered at LifeWorks.6

Intravenous Therapies

For cancer patients, intravenous (IV) therapies improve the body’s ability to fight off cancerous cells.

One of the most widely used alternative IV therapies for cancer is high-dose vitamin C therapy.

This therapy involves the infusion of high doses of vitamin C, which helps stimulate the immune system, reduce inflammation, and destroy cancerous cells.7

Curcumin is another alternative IV therapy that has been shown to have strong anti-cancer properties.

This therapy involves using an IV infusion of curcumin derived from turmeric, which has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Another IV therapy that has gained attention in recent years is Poly MVA.

This IV therapy contains a combination of minerals, vitamins, and amino acids, which forms a compound that has been shown to help fight cancerous cells by boosting energy production in the body’s cells.
