VIDEO: Proper Lyme Disease Testing Matters

Lyme disease epidemic, why proper testing matters.
Lyme disease testing video

In this video, Dr. David Minkoff discusses how Lyme disease is transmitted, why it is often more complex than many people realize, and the importance of comprehensive testing when evaluating chronic illness.

He explains how ticks and other insects may carry multiple infections at the same time, including organisms such as Bartonella and Babesia, which can complicate diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Minkoff also shares why identifying all of the underlying infections is critical for creating an effective treatment plan.

If you’ve struggled with chronic symptoms, unexplained fatigue, neurological issues, or ongoing health concerns that haven’t responded to conventional approaches, this video offers insight into why Lyme disease and related infections are frequently overlooked.

As you probably know, Lyme disease is epidemic now worldwide.

How did it start?

Well, a bioweapons laboratory on Plum island, right opposite Lyme, Connecticut. They were experimenting with the Lyme organism and ticks, and somehow they got released and started an epidemic of people getting arthritis and fevers and rashes, which turned out, which is now modern day, called Lyme disease.

If you get Lyme disease, how do you get it?

Well, you get a tick bite. That organism, that tick, or sometimes even mosquito bit an animal, maybe even a person that had Lyme disease contacted it in their mouth, and then when they bite you, they give it to you.

Now, there’s a whole bunch of different organisms that go together. So Lyme disease isn’t just the original one. It’s called Borrelia burgdorferi. Many patients with Lyme disease have Rocky Mountain spotted fever virus.

And as part of the profile, they also have Bartonella, which is the cat scratch bug. This is a bacteria that cats can carry. They bite you and you get an infection. But many of these ticks carry this as well. Babesia is actually a single cell parasite, and many of these ticks carry Babesia. There’s another three or four that they go with.

Now, if your doctor is treating you for Lyme disease with some antibiotic, it’s not going to cover all these things.

So when we’re doing the diagnostics, we want to know which organisms does your body have so that we can do the appropriate treatment that includes all the organisms and not just Lyme disease itself, because it’s not one thing.

So good diagnostics lead to good treatments, lead to good results.
