I contracted Lyme disease about twenty-three years ago. I’ve been battling it ever since.
Highly recommend LifeWorks. You come here, feel like you’re gonna be taken care of with professionals who know hundreds of people like you and get most of them well.
I worked the program and it worked. I felt like I’m 43 again – I’m 66.
My name’s Bill Sherman, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin originally, but now I live up in Fort Walt Beach, Florida, near Destin.
I was an Air Force Special Ops, so that was my identity in my middle life at age 43 I was running marathons. I noticed that I just get completely wiped out with a if I did a hard 5K race or heavy workout, high heart rate in the gym, that wiped me out for like a week.
So I stayed that way and actually was running marathons as long as I didn’t get my heart rate up there, I was okay.
2003 is when and 4 is when the symptoms went from running marathons having a hard time getting up the stairs. Mental fog the classic flu like symptoms that Lyme has.
I really wasn’t diagnosed with anything in the military. I mean we’re talking Walter Reed, Brooks Air Force, Mayo Clinic for a week, worked me over for MS. Basically, they came up with nothing and I just lived with it.
Actually got started running marathons again at a slower rate and that actually helped keep the my immune system energized to fight off the Lyme disease, which wasn’t diagnosed.
And Walter Reed, they gave me the Western Blot test and I was negative for that, which we know is not a good test for Lyme disease.
They did the best they could with the knowledge they had. I mean they were using the standard traditional test and trying to rule out everything and you know, all the zebra diseases I may have had.
You know, I was a a lieutenant colonel and colonel when I was going through this, so they’re very interested in getting me well. I thought they did the best they could, but obviously the traditional medicine doesn’t have the understanding of Lyme disease or mold toxins or any other stuff.
You know, Dr. Minkoff says people have seen a dozen doctors before they get here. I bet you have seen 50 or 60.
So diagnosed with Lyme, I was just gonna live with Lyme disease. It’s like, well, and that’s who I am. And then I started getting the chest pain. That’s when I said, well, I gotta do something about this.
And we, that’s how we found this clinic down here. My first experience was a good one. They did the diagnosis and you know with the muscle test and all that.
I Googled EBOO, I said, man, filtering the blood out makes a lot of sense. It’s trying to get rid of toxins and bacteria and stuff.
Did the muscle tests did you get all this stuff besides Lyme disease, long COVID was the thing that probably was the co-infection that was bothering me the most.
And then they put me on the paleo no-gluten diet. I grabbed all the supplements, took them home. Yeah, I just committed to the program, doing whatever you need me to do, I’m doing.
I’ll say the experience at LifeWorks here, that all the people I meet here are very interested in getting you well. And they’ve been doing it so long. Seems like they have a really solid plan.
So I’m gonna stick with it cause I don’t want to go back, I don’t want to gain the weight again, I don’t wanna go back to not moving. I’m back.
I would tell anyone with Lyme disease, in in my case struggling with it, that it’s worth it. I mean if how much price can you put on your health and feeling well? I wouldn’t hesitate.
Matter of fact, my wife is coming down here to get evaluated for some other stuff next week.
So Dr. Minkoff has cleared me to go home. I have, I’m completing the rest of my, so next week I’m going back home. So I have a few more IVs and stuff that to complete it, but I was probably ready to go home after three or four or three or four weeks ago I felt that good.
And back to last Saturday I walked a marathon in seven hours, so 26 miles. So, first one I have done since COVID shut all the marathons down.
So I’m back. Life is different for me now because every morning I wake up I don’t feel like I’ve been in a car wreck.
So, what am I looking forward to? Get back to my own house and doing the marathons again and just living a healthy, normal life without all the pain and suffering.
