LifeWorks Wellness Center is sponsoring the first Tampa Bay screening of an important new documentary about autism, called The United States of Autism.
Clearwater, FL – LifeWorks Wellness Center, one of the foremost alternative health clinics in the US, is sponsoring the screening of The United States of Autism, at AMC Woodlands Square, Oldsmar on Thursday, April 18th. The screening will begin at 7:30pm and the documentary will be introduced by LifeWorks’ practitioner, Dr. George Springer.
The release of this major new documentary is very timely; recently the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics released a report that suggests 1 in 50 children has autism. As the father of five sons, Dr. Springer is concerned to see the number increasing. He says, “Autism is a modern epidemic and the latest statistics reflect that. I am seeing a growing number of autistic children in my practice at our Clearwater clinic, and I welcome this documentary as a way of showing America through the eyes of people who have autism.”
Filmed in 2010, The United States of Autism shares the stories of 21 families impacted by autism and gives real insight into their world. The documentary premiers in New York on April 5, and the screening in Oldsmar will be the first in Tampa Bay.
AMC Woodlands Square is at 3128 Tampa Road, Oldsmar, FL and the screening takes place on Thursday, April 18 at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the box office and cost $10.75
