School Physicals

A group of children going to the school physical exams

Tampa Bay Children starting school for the first time or students moving to Florida from another state are required by the Florida Department of Health to have a school physical, and LifeWorks offers this as a family care service.

The exam is performed at our Clearwater clinic by the Nurse Practitioner and she will check the following:

  • Height
  • Weight
  • Vital signs
  • Eye chart test
  • Ears
  • Throat
  • Lungs
  • Heart
  • Musculo-skeletal
  • Alertness

In addition, the parents will be asked some questions about the student’s behavior, activities, nutrition and emotional well-being.

Upon completion of the physical, the student will be given a completed report to take to school.
