Long Haul COVID Treatment

Long haul covid treatment at lifeworks wellness center

LifeWorks Wellness Center, the top Functional Medicine clinic in Florida, offers Long Haul COVID treatment in Florida.

Post-COVID infections, also called post-acute COVID syndrome, long-COVID, or as sufferers are sometimes colloquially called, “COVID long haulers” all describe a syndrome characterized by a variety of debilitating symptoms after COVID-19 infection that lingers, anywhere from four weeks to six months or more.

This condition affects people of all ages, even otherwise healthy individuals. It is seen in those who have been admitted to the hospital and those with mild symptoms.

A recently published study published in the journal JAMA Network Open estimate that about 50% of COVID-19 patients face long-term symptoms.

  • 1 in 5 have decreased mobility
  • 1 in 4 have trouble thinking or concentrating (called “brain fog”)
  • ~1 in 3 develop an anxiety disorder
  • 1 in 4 have breathing issues
  • 1 in 5 have hair loss or skin rashes.
  • Cardiovascular issues like chest pain and heart palpitations are common.
  • Stomach and gut health problems are also very common.

While the long-term effects of COVID-19 are still unknown, the pattern of symptoms seems to follow many other chronic long-term infectious disease patterns.

Powerful Natural Treatment For Long Haul Covid

LifeWorks Wellness Center has an effective long COVID-19 treatment and health-recovery program to help patients suffering from post-COVID-19 symptoms. As a COVID treatment clinic, we see patients from around the state of Florida and beyond.

LifeWorks Wellness Center addresses the issues of COVID-19 aftercare by delivering what we believe to be the most complete, integrative healing protocol for long COVID.

We are an integrative health clinic that uses the very best of Western medicine combined with the whole-body approach of Functional Medicine.

Functional Medicine’s approach to treating chronic illnesses like COVID-19 is to find and heal the underlying causes: the infectious agents, plus biological weaknesses and other systemic factors that brought both about the disease and are causing it to persist.

By removing those elements that suppress or weaken the body’s ability to fight off the infection, and strengthening the body with supportive therapies and treatments, we expect most people will recover from long COVID.

Functional Medicine Strategies for Treating Long-Haul COVID

Dr. Minkoff, MD, helms LifeWorks Wellness Center, has been a highly-experienced infectious disease doctor for over 45 years and is a best-selling author. He is one of the most in-demand speakers in his field.

He has been at the forefront of Functional Medicine for the last 30 years, pioneering innovative and effective treatments for chronic infectious diseases that conventional Medicine had no real solutions for.

Our whole-body approach to chronic diseases, like long COVID, is entirely different from traditional Western medicine, which often seeks to suppress symptoms through various medications. Suppressing symptoms unfortunately does not resolve the underlying condition, but leaves it to fester.

Long COVID-19 follows many of the disease patterns we have observed in other chronic infectious diseases. Thus our COVID long-hauler treatment program is based on a highly refined, effective infectious disease treatment protocol used to treat other very difficult infectious diseases, like Lyme Disease.

Our multidisciplinary team, using a whole-body approach, along with an arsenal of powerful therapies and treatments, works together to help patients recover from some of the most challenging diseases of our time.

Symptoms of Long COVID-19

Long COVID can cause a diverse range of symptoms in individuals, indicating that it affects everyone differently based on their existing state of health, unique genetic makeup, and many other factors. This explains why long COVID can be non-existent, mild, or devastating.

Some of the most commonly reported long-term symptoms per the CDC include:

  • fatigue
  • chest pain
  • shortness of breath
  • heart palpitations
  • cough
  • joint pain
  • muscle pain
  • brain fog – difficulty thinking and concentration
  • headache
  • depression
  • intermittent fever

LifeWorks Wellness Center is leading the way in COVID-19 treatment in Tampa, FL, Clearwater, FL, and the rest of the United States.

It is estimated that millions of COVID patients are suffering from long-haul COVID, and many do not have access to the care they need to recover because doctors are tentative to respond or not acting fast enough because of limited guidance.

For this reason, patients are traveling to our clinic to avail themselves of this unique and effective approach to long-haul COVID-19.

Patients are understandably anxious to start their journey back to health and wellness, and we are here to support you!

New Long COVID Treatment Available

We are among the first in Florida to offer an integrative (and more natural) post-COVID-19 infection treatment protocol. This protocol is based on a treatment protocol that we use with great success to treat patients suffering from complex and invasive infectious diseases, like Lyme Disease, chronic Epstein-Barr, and others.

Treatment not only addresses the infection directly but also:

  • eliminates the chronic inflammation that accompanies this disease.
  • enhances the body’s energy production
  • oxygenates and saturate tissues
  • improves circulation
  • supports the ability to detoxify better
  • improves the immune system
  • rapidly restores the body nutritionally
  • corrects any nutritional deficiencies

The combined therapies tackle post-COVID infections from a whole-body perspective.

Our Post-COVID-19 treatment program is the state’s first and only such program.

Patient Assessments

Patients will undergo an initial one-hour visit at our clinic in Clearwater, FL, where their current situation and needs will be evaluated. After the assessment, we may recommend further testing; otherwise, we will develop a personalized treatment for you.

We will coordinate with the patient, any caregivers, and, if needed, with the patient’s primary care provider throughout this process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a candidate for your long COVID treatment plan?
Patients with “long COVID” of any age are eligible to receive the post-COVID-19 program after a clinical exam has determined that this is the right program for you.

Many patients suffer from a persistent fever, tiredness, chronic fatigue, breathlessness, renal and cardiovascular impairments, blood clots, muscular discomfort, depression, brain fog, numbness, dizziness, neurological issues, and other long-term physical and psychological consequences.

Does insurance cover post-acute COVID syndrome treatment?
Unfortunately no. Most treatments and therapies we employ are not covered under traditional private insurance or Medicare/Medicaid. You may be able to submit some labs to your insurance, but most labs and treatments will likely not be covered.

Insurance will not cover our approach as an integrative health clinic that pursues quality care and does not follow conventional “pre-approved” (and often ineffective) treatments. We hope that patients will be able to decide which doctors they want to see and what treatments they prefer one day. Until that time, our services are not covered by insurance.

How do I get referred to LifeWorks Wellness Center for my post-COVID syndrome?
Patients who have recovered from COVID-19 and are still experiencing medical problems may be referred by their primary care physician, or you can self-refer if you don’t have a regular doctor. We’ll match you with a LifeWorks Wellness Center practitioner.

Must I visit your clinic for long-haul COVID treatment?
Yes. You must visit and be seen and treated in person at our clinic in Clearwater, FL.

Do you offer telemedicine for COVID long haulers?
No. We require patients to be seen in person at our clinic in Clearwater, FL.

Can you refer me to someone in my state or area who knows how to treat long-haul COVID?
No. We are unaware of any doctors or clinics with the same experience and success rate in treating novel infectious diseases.
