Mold Illness FAQ

Does mold make you sleep a lot?

Mold exposure can potentially disrupt sleep patterns and contribute to sleep disturbances.

The presence of mold toxins (mycotoxins) in the environment may affect the nervous system and sleep regulation and can cause fatigue, brain fog and other cognitive issues that could impact sleep adn recovery times. These toxins can overwork the immune system causing the body to need significantly more sleep.

Mold-related symptoms such as nasal congestion, coughing, and allergies can also lead to discomfort that may interfere with sleep quality.

While not everyone exposed to mold will experience sleep-related issues, it’s possible it could impact a person this way.
